Signer & Deeds ... sustained upward velocity
More good blog news for the Deeds and Signer camps today. These guys are working up the inside rail, driving hard to June 9th.
Deeds got a major NoVa Demo endorsement today... covered by Left of the Hill, AIAW, et. al., Bryne endorses Deeds
Leslie Byrne is known as a progressive candidate and in regards to Creigh’s progressive qualities she pointed out that he has a 100% pro choice voting record, has done a lot for the environment, earned a 93% ranking for the teachers which is higher than any other gubernatorial candidate has scored, and it’s clear that he’s going to make transportation a priority.
... you really get to know someone when you’re on the trail with them and Creigh’s “not a creation by consultants. He’s authentic.”
... “no other candidate is better prepared” to take on the responsibility of the Governor’s office.
Mike Signer's "Jim Webb Democrat" label from richmond.com article sticks according to Lowell at Blue Virginia
Without apology, Signer tossed off a line that must play well at Democratic gatherings: "I think when you look at Bill Bolling, if you squint just a little bit, he looks exactly like Virgil Goode."
Neither is Signer apologizing for what Republicans will surely call his "pro-union stance."
"My grandparents were in unions," said Signer. "My parents were in unions. Unions helped build the middle class in this country; I don’t think there’s any question about that."
So, in a nutshell, why did Bryne pick Signer, instead of Wagner?
"I feel very strongly that we need someone who’s going to start talking for middle income, wage-earning people in Virginia," said Byrne, "and that’s what Mike has been about."
Both these campaigns could use a little more donor love to drive them across the finish line against the opposition, with deeper pockets.
Go to Mike Signer and Creigh Deeds to share some $$$ love, folks!
